cial reporter at the Ministry of History and Culture, Sadiq Gentle, has lost his life after sustaining injuries when he was violently attacked by some suspected hoodlums.

It was learnt that the governor’s aide died on Thursday morning, August 7, at the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, days after he was attacked with machetes at his residence in Kano.

Governor Yusuf has taken a major action as he directed the security agencies to step into the matter and fish out the perpetrators immediately.

Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the spokesperson to the governor, in a condolence message on behalf of Yusuf, described the deceased as a patriotic and dedicated social media professional whose sudden death has brought a dark cloud upon the state government and the media community.

Tofa noted that the news of Gentle’s death hit him with anguish and sadness. The late governor’s aide was then described as a devoted public servant who served the state with the utmost dedication. While Gentle’s murder was described as a “tragedy and an affront to our collective humanity,” he was referred to as “a man of peace and integrity.”

In strong words, the governor condemned the killing of Gentle and extended his condolences to the family, friends and relations of the deceased.
