n aide to the governor of Delta state, Ossai Success Ovie, has stirred a fresh debate in the polity by expressing disappointment at music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, for heading to Miami, Florida, United States, for his white wedding.
According to Ossai, the whole ceremony is a waste of money.
Recall that Davido and his wife, Chioma Avril Rowland, had their traditional wedding in June 2025, in Lagos state and are now set to tie the knot the white way this weekend in Miami.
Legit.ng reported that Davido confirmed that he and his wife, Chioma, will have their white wedding in Miami in August 2025. He made the announcement during an interview on The Breakfast Club, aired on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. But in a post shared on his Facebook page on Thursday, August 7, the governor’s aide wrote:
“Davido and Chioma’s white wedding this weekend in Miami is a waste of money and i am disappointed
“Having too much money doesn’t mean you should carelessly spend it.
“Dangote, Ossai Ovie Success , Elon musk and Mark Zuckerberg won’t waste money like this .
“What is the essence of white wedding in Florida when your lavish traditional marriage is over a year.
