Tears as Former Nigerian Governor Mana Dies in Abuja, Tinubu, Others Mourn

Jos, Plateau state – Colonel Mohammed Mana (rtd), a former military governor of Plateau state, is dead.

As reported by The Nation, President Bola Tinubu, in a statement, expressed grief over Mana’s death.

Mana, also a former senator passed away on Saturday, August 23, in Abuja, Daily Trust noted.

The late Mana, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, represented Adamawa North Senatorial district between 2007 and 2011.

In a condolence message by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described the deceased as a “distinguished patriot and officer gentleman” who dedicated his life to the service of Nigeria, both in and out of military uniform. He praised Mana’s contributions to national development and his consistent pursuit of the common good.

Commiserating with the family, friends, and associates of the late ex-military administrator, Tinubu said:

His counsel and leadership will be sorely missed.”

Furthermore, the Nigerian leader extended condolences to the government and people of Adamawa state, as well as members of the APC family in the state who, he noted, benefited immensely from Mana’s wisdom and guidance. He prayed for the peaceful repose of Mana’s soul and for strength for his family to bear the loss.

Loveth.com.ng gathered that the late Mana left behind children and wives. His funeral prayer was held on Saturday, August 23, at the Abuja National Mosque, in line with Islamic rites.
